Back From SoulLink 2010

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

SoulLink this year was absolutely fantastic! We talked about how “WE LOVE JESUS” both at church and with our friends.  We also talked in our small group about the motivations behind what makes us live our lives one way or another.  There’s so much more to learn and discuss than one weekend can hold!

We’ve also gotten the first batch of pictures posted.  If you have more pictures, give them to Cameron on a CD or USB flash drive, email them to Cameron or pictures@sacoc.org, or post them at http://www.sacocyouth.org/forms/.

SoulLink 2010: I Love Jesus.

In a few weeks, we will be traveling to SoulLink, a big youth rally in Houston that our teens have come to love.  When we get there, we’ll get to see Josh Kasinger (and his new baby!) as well as lots of other folks.

If you’re a teen, I NEED you to confirm with me exactly who is coming.  Seriously guys, I’ve only got one person who has paid so far.

Busy Summer

Saturday, August 15th, 2009

5855_1125611019182_1194330030_30380871_4309461_n It has been a busy and exciting summer.  On Thursdays, we have been attending the Arlington Summer Youth Series and having activity nights on the off-weeks.  SYS concluded this past weekend at Altamesa Church of Christ with a evening of praise, focus, and thought-provoking skits. On one of our activity nights, we went bowling… which was a hit!  We may have to go back soon; a few pictures have been posted here.

Last weekend, we had our Summer Lockin, and that was a blast.  Our theme was Lost & Found, and somehow or another about 900 forks found their way into the preacher’s front yard…  The pictures will be posted soon.

Mission Arlington, June 2009

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

Mission ArlingtonOn June 20th, some of us went up to Mission Arlington to help out as a part of our monthly service projects.  We helped clean the free dentistry, then we all worked outside in the hot, hot sun for a few hours.  Although it was exhausting, we had a good time.

Next month we will be going to a Children’s Hospital.  Also, Marie sent us some more photos from Work Camp – so check it out!

Arlington Work Camp 2009

Sunday, June 14th, 2009

The pictures for this year’s Arlington Work Camp have been posted.  After 15 years of service, AWC is still going strong!  There were over 200 kids this year and many, many houses got some much-needed tending to.  Thank you for helping to make this year’s efforts a sucess!

Also, this week begins our new Summer schedule.  We will be helping with the 252 Basics program for the young’ins on Sunday morning, followed by a short devo time.  Sunday evenings, we will be having a more in-depth study time.  Thursday evenings (and Tuesdays in July) will be for fun activities that you are encouraged to bring your friends to.  This will be a great summer, if you have any ideas on how to make it even better- let us know!

July 4th Dunk Tank

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

Seabass in water

Coming up this July 4th, the youth will be hosting a dunk tank booth as a fund raiser.  Church members will be able to vote on who they would like to see in the tank by going to sacocyouth.org/july4.  You will be able to vote through June 28th.

We will also need some volunteers to help set things up and tear them back down for any fundraisers we decide to run.
